Every journey of change begins with a single decision.

Namaste, Jambo, Kia ora, Hi.

I’m Abha Dod.

My roots are in India, I was born in Kenya, and primarily raised in Aotearoa, New Zealand, where I now reside.

I hold a post-graduate diploma in applied community psychology and have lived experience of trauma informed recovery. My work focuses on accessible, heart-led one-on-one sessions, psycho-spiritual education, and integrative group experiences.

What does that mean?

Simply put, I facilitate spaces for people to make sense of their inner world after interpersonal trauma (harm caused and experienced between two or more people). This includes but is not limited to childhood trauma, intimate partner violence, gender-based abuse, social trauma, or institutional harm.

I draw on knowledge and experience to support individuals and groups to bridge unconscious internal processes with conscious intentional action in the realm of recovery. I use a variety of therapeutic frameworks and integrative practices to invite personal transformation.

The sessions, classes and groups I curate have a strong focus accessing inner wisdom, enhancing agency, and sharing the experience of recovery with others on a similar journey - all of which have been vital in my own personal journey.

I know that change is possible because I have, and continue to, experience it firsthand. If you want it, it’s yours, too.

My Approach

At its roots, psychology was the study of the soul — and I hold onto that.

My work brings together a grounded blend of psychology, spirituality, and embodied practice to help people navigate change with clarity, resilience, and self-understanding.

I specialise in guiding children, teens, and young adults through educational and therapeutic experiences that empower them on their own self-healing journeys. My offerings are designed to complement therapy or counselling, or stand alone as self-healing support. I provide a supportive space where learning, connection, and insight deepen the work individuals are already doing.

I believe healing is not linear — it moves in cycles, in relationship, and in community. It’s a dance between science and spirit, challenge and growth. Each person arrives with their own history, culture, and strengths, and I honour that uniqueness in every session, class and group I facilitate.

Drawing from both Eastern and Western traditions, my approach supports the integration of mind, body, and spirit. These parts are never separate; they are always in conversation, shaping how we think, feel, and show up in the world.

This work isn’t just professional for me — it’s deeply personal.

As I walk my own path of recovery, I understand the courage it takes to face what hurts, to choose new ways of being, and to step into the unknown. Because of this, I’m committed to creating spaces where people feel safe, seen, and supported as they grow.
